M(h)aol live @ i Candelai
Irish post-punk band M(h)aol (pronounced male) specialise in dissonant basslines and abrasive drums – the perfect soundtrack for vulnerable lyrics that tackle difficult subjects including gaslighting, abuse and the pitfalls of patriarchy. This band of sisters are anything but morose, though. Their songs are reclamations of power, rather than laments.
Based in Dublin, Belfast, and London, Irish intersectional feminist firebrands M(h)aol — Constance Keane (She/Her), Jamie Hyland (She/Her), and Sean Nolan (He/Him) — have built a reputation for thrilling live performances, fostering an atmosphere that encourages community and catharsis regardless of where they play.
